Well... ANY act of violence should be reported to police! In the case of children, ANY form of abuse requires "mandated reporters" to call the police. Mandated Reporters include people 'in authority' and 'of authority', including: police, fire personnel, physicians, dentists, nurses, teachers/school principals, etc. BUT, in a moral view, adults in everyday life should decide to also be reporters of child abuse... whether "violent" or not... whether physical or sexual, or emotional or psychological.

ALL child abuse "hurts".
