By believing in Allah as the one God. You would be saved. All the religions in our world are based on worshiping a person or a statue (and sometimes something besides God) except Islam which is worshiping God (Allah) alone. Before Islam , Arabs were worshiping statues made of dates. They were hungry in the middle of the desert ,and instead of eating the dates they worshiped them thinking they will make them better people in the eyes of their God. Islam came to teach people to worship a glorious God ,but there is no need to worship any golden statue or any person besides him. It's just between you and Allah directly.
No. Animism has nothing to do with Islam as Islam holds that only God as a singular entity should be worshipped. Animism ascribes spiritual natures to different elements in the world and asks adherents to worship these things. In Islam, that would be blasphemy.
"Many Muslims around the world practice the teachings of Islam, which emphasize belief in one God and following the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad."
