This is a delicate subject, to say the least. On the whole, American Jews were keen to avoid looking 'unpatriotic' by pressing for specifically Jewish war aims.

(See Peter Novick, The Holocaust in American Life). Elie Wiesel has criticized American Jews quite sharply, claiming that they did nothing at the time.
