Welcome to the new reality! The state is trying to save your taxes by not paying unnecessary postage! Although it was "nice" to be notified, it is not the state's responsibility to warn you of the imminent expiration of YOUR license. The expiration date is clearly marked on the license itself. JUST LOOK AT IT!

∙ 12y agoGet it renewed. You receiving that card is not a required necessity - it's a courtesy provided by your state's DMV. Not receiving it doesn't give you an excuse not to renew your licence before the expiration date.

∙ 12y agoYou should go to the DMV and renew your licence, whether or not you've received such a notice. The notification is not a requirement - it is a mere courtesy provided by the DMV. With or without that card, your licence will expire on the expiration date specified if you do not renew it. Failing to receive that card does not give you an excuse to not renew your licence, nor will it give you validation to drive on that licence after it expires. You bring your old licence to the DMV, pay the fees, and renew it. Additional paperwork may be required - be expected to show proof of residency, at a minimum. A social security card may also be required, and it never hurts to have a second form of ID handy (such as a passport or military ID).
