Who built the harmandir sahib?

Guru Amardas ji thought of building a town on this place. For someone, they bought land from the zamindars of Thung village and the responsibility of establishing a town was placed on Guru Ram Das, Guru Ram Das was not on the throne at that time. 1 tank was dug at this place by Guru Ramdas ji, the named of that holy tank kept from name of Guru Amar Das ji, the name of that holy tank is Amrit Sarovar and the people of 52 regions were gathered and a town was built around the lake, which was named Ramdas Pura. When Guru Ramdas started digging the lake, the lake was raw. After lighting his candle, Guru Arjan Dev ji came to take care of this service. He fixed the tank on which Guru Amardas ji used to sing hymns and Guru Ramdas ji used to give sermons to the congregation, at that place Arjan Dev ji built the building of Shri Harminder Sahib! Harminder Sahib means Temple of Hari, House of God. The entire map of the building of Harminder Sahib was prepared by Guru Arjan Dev ji with his own hands and its service was handed over to Baba Budha ji and its foundation was laid by Muslim fakir Sai Mian Mir ji. The four doors of Harminder Sahib mean that people of any caste and religion can come to the Gurudwara without any discrimination!! One way to go means that there is only one way to reach God. This bridge from Darshini Deori to Sachkhand has been built with the flour of Mah di dal, which was ground with a hand-operated mill at that time. Inside this bridge, there are small rooms, inside of which the Guru Granth Sahib is lit, and the Bhog of Shri Akhand Path Sahib is found. The height of Shri Harmandar Sahib Ji was kept lower than the height of the city. When Baba Budha Sahib Ji asked about this, Guru Sahib said that God is found only by those who live lowly. The Harmandir Sahib became a central hub for Sikh religious and cultural activities, welcoming people from all walks of life. if you want to know about 10 Sikh Gurus and history of sikhs, you should visit to my website sikhhistoryinfo

Why the name of darbar sahib is harminder Mandir one Hindu person ask you this question pl tell you in breaf?

According to Sikhism,God is one who is the same for all religions but depending on where each religion originated, they give different names to God. And so the same God has so many different names but they all refer to same God.Hari and Har are among the many names which Sikh Gurus have used in their hymns in reference to God. Therefore, Sikh Gurus named one of the Gurudwara (Sikh place of worship) as Harminder. Please note its not Harminder Mandir but only Harminder and with respect we call it Harminder Sahib. It mean adobe of God.Its open from fours sides, signifying the acceptance of anybody from all corners. We also use the term Darbar Sahib, that is because Guru Granth Sahib Ji is always present there and as such the word Darbar means 'Royal Court', so it only signify the importance. Please be advised as I read it from your question, as you mentioned being Hindu and the word Minder is used in Harminder, so that may give you some other thought. But as mentioned, for Sikh Gurus, even the different names of God were matter of no doubt, for they ever maintained the singularity and oneness of God, irrespective of the names, places, culture etc. Sikh Gurus even used Muslim names of God like Allah,Khuda because it was more about way of expressing oneself and since there is only one God, no matter how you express it, it only refer to that Power.Confining God to certain names, places, cultures, ideas, thoughts, religious scriptures only end in developing different rituals, ceremonies, superstitiousness, etc. Therefore, the focus is and was always of Sikh Gurus on God and as such they never felt or saw any problem using different names of God or naming places with them. Thank You.

Why 1984 Sikh riots happens?

In June 1984 Indian Army stormed the Harminder Sahib also popularly known as Golden Temple because they suspected terrorists hiding in the Harminder Sahib. The attack took place during the celebration of the birthday of one of the Sikh Gurus. On 31st October 1984, Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of Indian was assassinated by two of her Sikh bodyguard. This assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi led to an Anti Sikh Riots all over India especially Northern India. These anti Sikh Riots were politically motivated rather than a public reaction and Sikhs till today are asking for the justice as well bringing those people who were involved for the cause of these riots to be punished.
