There are 2 ways by which you can enter it: The short way: First you must have the submarine. Once you have it, from Junon, go underwater. head north-west. Follow the left wall, skip over the left turn into where the Gelnika crashed, then take the next left. The path will fork into 2: The first path (left) will take you to the waterfall. The second path (right), which seems to be just a dead end, has a secret passage at the end to the right. It's a narrow tunnel with the key at the end. The long way: Breed a Gold chocobo You will need: chocobo lure some greens (quite a bit of tantal to feed with and a few Gysahl to catch with) 2 carob nuts {stolen from the red dinosaur looking thing outside of bone village} 1 zeio nut {stolen from the goblins from the most northeast island with the forest} to save the game before every breeding 1. breed a good or average with another good or average (found south of gold saucer) with a carob nut. You will receive either a blue, green or yellow chocobo. Reset game if not desired color 2. repeat step 1 to get a chocobo of opposite color. If all works out, you will have a green, a blue, and 2 yellow chocobos. 3. breed the blue and green with a carob nut. You will receive a black chocobo. 4. release the yellow chocobos from the stable 5. catch an amazing chocobo south of the snow town. Note: the amazing ones will always have 2 rabbits with them. the chocobo must be of opposite gender of the black chocobo 6. feed the amazing and black chocobo a few tantal greens each (~ 60+ the more the better) race them both at the track to at least rank A. 7. mate them with a zeio nut.
* Breed a male "Great" quality Chocobo with a female "Good" quality Chocobo using a Carob Nut to get a Blue (River) Chocobo. * Breed a male "Good" quality Chocobo with a female "Great" quality Chocobo using a Carob Nut to get a Green (Mountain) Chocobo. * Breed an A-class or S-class Blue (River) Chocobo with an A-class or S-class Green (Mountain) Chocobo using a Carob Nut to get a Black (River-Mountain) Chocobo. * Breed an A-class or S-class Black (River-Mountain) Chocobo with an S-class "Wonderful" quality Chocobo using a Zeio nut to obtain a Gold (Ocean) Chocobo. To add to this, if you find the idea of breeding and racing chocobos to be absolutely unbearable, there is an alternative. Once you get the airship Highwind, return to the village of Kalm and visit the upstairs of one of the houses there. There is an old man who will ask you for three items: one of them is called the Desert Rose. If you give him this item he will give you a Gold chocobo. Desert Rose - You must defeat Ruby Weapon to get this item, and Ruby is by far the most difficult enemy in the game to defeat. I recommend consulting a faq guide at gamefaqs.com for advice with this one. Anyway, you can find him in the sand outside the Gold Saucer. He is a clearly visible red against the golden sand. Ram him with your airship to begin the battle, and good luck. You will need it. It should be noted that this alternative method is far more dificult than breeding your own Gold chocobo. I only included it because, technically, it is the fastest way to obtain one. If you want a challenge, then go for this one. Otherwise, stick to raising your own. Another Answer: Just use a save game editor.

Getting the Gold Chocobo will take about 8-10 hours, at least 300,000 gil as well as the airship and lots of patience. You will get to explore the materia caves located at the top right corner of the map (Gold Chocobo only), middle-left of the map (At least a Green Chocobo required), bottom-right of the map (At least a Blue Chocobo required), and middle of the map of the western continent (At least a Black Chocobo required). The Basics to Breeding:Chocobo types:Wonderful - Choco Billy says, "This... is a wonderful Chocobo!"Great - Choco Billy says, "This is a great Chocobo."Good - Choco Billy says, "Mmm, this seems like a good Chocobo."Fair - Choco Billy says, "Mmm, this one's not bad."Average - Choco Billy says, "This is a pretty average Chocobo."Mediocre - Choco Billy says, "This Chocobo's so-so."Poor - Choco Billy says, "This one doesn't seem to be very good."Weak - Choco Billy says, "I really can't recommend this one."Chocobo Locations:Wonderful - Icicle Inn AreaGreat - Mideel AreaGood - Gold Saucer AreaFair - Junon Area, Wutai Area, Mideel AreaAverage - Gold Saucer Area, Wutai AreaMediocre - Rocket Town AreaPoor - Chocobo Ranch Area, Junon AreaWeak - Chocobo Ranch Area, Icicle Inn AreaAlways save before you mate two chocobos. If you don't succeed in getting the chocobo you want, you can always reset your playstation and try again. One thing to keep in mind when raising chocobos is that you should only spend about 40,000 Gil for each chocobo on greens (as an absolute maximum). The only chocobos on which you should spend more than this amount of money on greens on is the Black Chocobo and your Gold Chocobo. These chocobos' stats should be maxed out and they are the ones you will race with if you want prizes at the Gold Saucer. To get a Green Chocobo or Blue Chocobo, steal the carob nut from the red dragon-like monsters (Vlakorados) on the grass near Bone village. Go to Mideel Island with your Chocobo Lure Materia (preferably upgraded), and walk around the tracks until you find a great chocobo. Then go to the Gold Saucer tracks and find a good chocobo. Make sure one is male and one is female and upgrade them at the golden saucer to the highest class you can. Mate these two to get either a Blue Chocobo or a Green Chocobo. Once you get a chocobo of either colour, mate the original parents again for the other colour. To mate them again, you have to wait a while (go level up or do some other side quests). Once you have a Blue Chocobo and a Green Chocobo of opposite sex, boost them both to the highest class you can achieve in the golden saucer. Mate them with a carob nut for a Black Chocobo (it's possible that you don't get it, but don't despair; just reset and try the mating again). Now, go to the Icicle Inn area, where the chocobo tracks are, and get a wonderful chocobo. It'll take a few tries to get one, so don't despair if you end up with a few crappy ones. When you're catching your wonderful chocobo, however, make sure that you get a chocobo of the opposite sex of your Black Chocobo. Once you catch it, upgrade it to the highest class you can achieve (perferably S-class) along with your Black Chocobo and mate them with a zeio nut. With a little luck, you'll have a Gold Chocobo! What you do with it now is up to you, but you should ride it to the top right corner of the map and look for a crater-like island and then go into the cave to get the Knights of the Round materia. See the secrets section and materia sections for more things you can get with the Gold Chocobo.
