There are large pincers that are on larva to grab its prey when they fall in to pit. Mouth parts that are used for eating insects are in a lacewing antlion's mouth. Ruff surface and brown colored to hide in sand for larva. Larva dig pits to get food. Small holes in larva so then can collect debris to camouflage in tropical areas.
