Children should get a phone around the age of 10. It also is based on maturity. If they tend to be responsible about most things, they are definetly ready for a phone.
They should also have unlimited texting! :)
We live in the world of technology. It is strongly believed that the earlier we teach our children how to use devices that the likelyhood of innapropriate use will exist.
Teaching a teenager how to be conservative on a minute plan is impossible. Showing a toddler how to dial numbers on a phone is impressive. That doesn't mean that either child should have one in either situation.
Prepaid phones give the comfort of knowing that abuse will be at the fault of the user, but the investment that results will be at the purchaser's convienience.
To teach responsibility is the focus, but safety is the concern. You never know who may be on the other end of that phone call with how fast cell numbers are recycled. To have the child follow serious guidelines and the ability for a parent or grandparent to teach simple opens up a whole new line of communication.
Camera phones are great to prove location, until the child learns how to send a saved picture.
Text messaging can increase verbiage and communication skills in general.
All of the benefits boil down to cost. If you can afford to give a child anything a phone would be very high on that list. How else better than to get a second chance to tell them you love them.
I am now 13 but I was 11 when I got a phone, but it was not an I phone it was a go phone that I could only call my family and text my parents, and I was 12 when I got a regular phone so I would say 11 for a go phone but, 12 for a regular phone. I hope I was a help!!
I say 10-12 personally I am 13 and don't even have a flip phone. I do all the house chores while my family sits around on Facebook and TV. its not fair and I don't get paid. ever! at school all my friends have cells and I feel left out I also get good grades, a's and the occasional b-c. I never get together with my friends because my mom always says she will try but never does. its summer and ive only talked to 2 ove my friends once. + my girlfriend over the landline. Id like 2 stay in contact with friends but cant. I don't even have an email.
12 years old
When they can afford to buy it themselves.
A good age for a child to get a phone is either 5th grade or 11 years old
in middle school
11 is the answer
About 12 years old.
yes because that's the age that is good or you could get it when you are 12.
Kids should have a phone at the age from 10-12 to prevent addiction, kids whom are under 9 years old cannot control their screen time.
The average age at which kids get a phone of their own is 10 years old, however personally I think they should get one whenever his or her parents thinks that it's time for there child to have one.
Personally - I think no. At that age they have no concept of the cost of using a mobile. Additionally, they are more susceptible to being bullied or mugged for their phone.
Kids over age 9. I think that is good. I'm 12 i got my phone when i was 9. ♥
Usually, people aged 10 and over have a cell phone so people shouldn't be having them at the age of 6.
ANY AGE YOUR CHOCIE
Most kids get one at the age of 9 or 10
yes.. some kids are smarter than you,....
