Cats and dogs as young as 8 weeks old can be spayed or neutered.
Most people try to have it done before the animal is 6 months old, although some people wait until the animal is a year old or more. This is NOT recommended by veterinarians; the health benefits of spaying/neutering are far greater if it's done as young as possible.
You should talk to your vet about when a good time is depending on the dog, but usually in new puppies, they should be spayed (females) or neutered (males) when they reach the age of 8 weeks.

∙ 12y agoI suppose you mean when she can be spayed (sterilised). Normally after the puppies have stopped nursing - usually after about two or three months. Check with your vet to be sure though. They will be able to tell you exactly when she should be spayed.

∙ 12y agoIf you want him to have zero interest in mating it's best to have that done before the hormones kick in. I don't know the exact age but I've heard of people doing it at 4 or 5 months old. The age may vary by breed. Some prefer to have it done once the dog is fully grown which again the age which that happens varies by breed.
