What age to get a boyfriend?

I think it is possible to get a boyfriend when the boy and yourself are ready. Many people date at the age of 11 or maybe 10. Whatever other people say just believe in yourself. Some people that say 16 or 20 is a good age to start dating because people get married at around that age. Those people probably dated at those ages so chose the right thing for them.

It all depends on what you mean by a boyfriend. If you want a male friend then any age is a good age. Boys make very good friends and can give a different outlook on life and any problems you are going through. Some young teenagers may have special boyfriends who they go on dates with, share secrets and maybe kiss and cuddle. These relationships rarley last as teenagers are really building their personalites and change their outlooks over time. There is little to be gained from getting heavily into a relationship this young as it will likely lead to pressure to go further than you want to or heart break when one of you finds another love/goes to college in a different state.

If you are looking for a commited relationship possibly leading to marriage then it is probably better to wait until you are a little older, possibly old enough to get married yourself. Ages vary from culture to culture. The fact you are asking the question probably shows that you don't think you are quite old enough yourself, or that you parents don't think you are. If you don't think you are old enough, don't feel pressured into getting a boyfirend to make your friends happy far better to wait until you find someone you really like, get married and keep it special bettween the two of you. If your parents aren't happy about it, then its probably worth listening to them and talking to them about it, generally mum and dad have your best interests at heart and don't want you to get hurt. Talking it through with them will help them adjust to you growing up. Alternativley, perhaps you think you are older than normal for dating? Some people really don't bother with dating at all, my husband was 32 before we dated and got married; that has worked out just fine for us.
