Turn the heat on then go to the airhandler, if the larger of the 2 copper pipes (insulated one) gets hot it is a heat pump. If it remains at room temperature your airhandler has an electric heater installed in it.

An a coil costs me about 280 dollars and takes about 2 hours to correctly install and pull a vacume on...I can buy the whole airhandler...with heat pup and electric heat 10kw for 350 and can install it in about 2 and a half hours done correctly with a vacume and using duct mastic ...not foil tape....have a great day and good luck...Donald Unless it is a furnace, then there is no airhandler and the only option is a new coil.

Bleach will not remove a clog, it is only for routine disinfecting of the drain line. For a clog blow out the line with compressed air. There should be access to do this somewhere inside at the airhandler but if not you can blow it in the opposite direction at the drain lines termination point. Or call a pro in to do it correctly.

If you are replacing a stat simply put the colors back to the terminals they came off of. If this is a new install R= 24v control power supply from the source(usually the air handler). Y=cooling,W=heating and G=fan. Y,W & G all send control power back to the unit and their respective relays. Y will need to go to the outdoor unit along with a common,as that is the control wire for the compressor. G will go to the fan relay terminal in the air handler and W will go to the heat relay terminal for the gas valve also in the airhandler. If you have RC & RH instead of just R they can be jumped together if you have a single control power source. If you have 2 control power sources RH & W need to use one and RC,Y & G would use the other.
