The greatest claims for hearing distances is in the water. Whales are said to hear over the width of the Atlantic Ocean. This is because water is 'practically' incompressable so little energy is dissapated through enthropic heating and the sound just keeps on going and going and going......
The animal which can smell the furthest is the bear. A bear can smell around 100 times better than humans. A polar bear, in particular, has the capability of smelling an odor 32 kilometers or 20 miles away. It can also detect a dead seal even if it under 3 feet of ice.
Elephants are among the animals with the best hearing. They can hear at frequencies much lower than humans, and can also use their feet and trunk to hear.
it depends on if it has a high range or low range of sound freqencies a likely answer would be noctuid moths that can hear up to 245,000 Hz.

the animal with the best hearing is a dog
The Elephant
Animal hearing is different to human hearing in various ways. The main difference is that animals have a high frequency range as opposed to the human ear.
Taylor Mckinley has amazing hearing
Whoever edited my answer is almost right, but not quite. :) Yes the bat has fabulous hearing but out of the entire animal kingdom it does not have the best hearing, as far as being able to hear on a large decibel scale. The moth still holds that record as they can detect sounds in a gigantic range of frequencies from 1,000 and 240,000Hz. Given scientific parameters though it's not certain what would qualify as far as acuteness of hearing, sharpness, range of frequency, etc. What IS certain is that there really is no way that these "concepts" can be proven in such a way to tell you definitively that there is a "BEST".

Its a owl with a range of 200 to 12,000 Hz (hertz)
I think a the hears well very, animal that is called camel.
Although some of the physical structures of animal ears are similar to humans, the hearing range of the animal causes their ears to work differently.
