The Thorny devil, an unusual spiky lizard of Australia, is currently neither endangered not officially threatened, but its numbers are decreasing. These desert-dwelling reptiles are protected under Australia's Wildlife Conservation Act. As with many Australian native animals, its greatest threat comes from habitat destruction and the incursions of humans into its environment. The introduction of feral cats also poses a threat as it is only a relatively small lizard, growing up to 20cm in length. In its native habitat, it has few natural predators; among them are goannas and birds of prey.
In theory, honey bees will sting anything that poses a threat to either a specific honey bee, or to the hive, including other insects, mammals, farm equipment, birds, clothing, etc. Stinging is their primary mode of defense. I have not heard of a specific case where a honey bee has stung a wood bee (or carpenter bee), but if a perceived threat from a carpenter bee was registered with one or more honey bees, or the hive, I have every reason to believe that honey bees would sting a carpenter bee. Incidentally, the opposite is also true, a carpenter bee could, in theory, sting a honey bee.
The greatest threat to numbats would be the fox, an introduced species. It is closely followed by feral cats in the threat it poses to numbats.
