The first airplane fatality was Lt. Thomas Selfridge who was a passenger in Orville's new plane being tested at Fort Meyer in 1908. The wright brothers were the first people to take flight.First people to make a working airplane. Before they made a plane they worked as bike makers at the wright cycle bike company. While they made bikes and sold them they also at the same time gained skills on how to make planes. If you looked at the wright brothers plane you would see that it has bike part. They got many awards for there work and to me are very important inventors.
