the fuel pump filter is attached to the fuel pump itself. the fuel pump is located in the gas tank.

If you have an Escort that is not a GT you have a 1.9 liter single overhead camshaft with 2 valves per cylinder which is fuel injected.
You push the button on the top of it down to reset it.
