The power to oversee the executive branch: The legislative branch has the responsibility to conduct oversight of the executive branch, ensuring that government agencies and officials are acting in accordance with the law and are being held accountable for their actions.
The power to control the budget: The legislative branch holds the power of the purse, meaning they have the authority to approve and allocate government funding. This power allows them to establish spending priorities, distribute resources, and make decisions regarding taxation and revenue.
