Amelia Earhart was famous for her aviation skill. She was the first woman to fly above 14,000 feet. She was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic. She was the first person to fly solo coast to coast. She was also the first person of either gender to fly from Hawaii to California.
