First off, "Islams" is not a word. Islam (Arabic, "submission to the will of God") is the religion and a Muslim (Arabic, "person who submits to the will of God") is a person who follows it.

The five pillars of Islam are:

1.) Belief - Muslims must believe that there is only one God, and that Mohammed is his final Prophet (not a messiah or divine son, but the final messenger in succession of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, etc.)

2.) Prayer - Muslims pray five times a day, facing the city of Mecca (from the U.S., Muslims face east).

3.) Almsgiving - Muslims are expected to give money to the poor.

4.) Fasting - Muslims fast during the month of Ramadan (late summer, moves due to the Islamic calendar being a lunar calendar). They abstain from food and drink during daylight hours and break their fast with a single, simple meal at sunset. The month of Ramadan commemorates the receiving of Mohammed's revelation from the angel Gabriel.

5.) Pilgrimage - All Muslims, except those who are physically or financially unable, must make one journey to Mecca in their lifetime.
