Aphrodite was in possession of a magical girdle that would make the wearer absolutely irresistible. In this way, Aphrodite was able to seduce many people, and in mythology, was seen to lend the use of her girdle to several others (Hera, for example). Therefore, this famous girdle is one of her symbols.
Her symbols featured in myths, these acted as a reminder for these stories in the time of the ancients, something they could relate to and physically touch.
She didn't actually control any territory, but the island of Cyprus was sacred to her, as was the island of Cythera.

Yes.
Apple, lettuce, myrtle-tree, myrrh-bush, rose and anemone were sacred plants of Aphrodite.
Roses
The myrtle was sacred to Aphrodite. It was often displayed in her shrines & gardens. She often wore a myrtle wreath or crown. Then comes the question, why was it sacred to her. The only explanation I've seen is because it rhymes with girdle. Aphrodite had a girdle, more like a belt, that made the wearer sexually irresistible. Seems a pretty thin thread to me -- she was also fertile Myrtle.
Yes, it was one of her symbols.

White doves, roses.
The turtle-dove was sacred to Demeter and to Aphrodite.
The sacred animal that symbolizes Aphrodite is the dove. Because she is the Greek Goddess of love and beauty, and the dove symbolizes love, that was made her sacred or "favorite" animal.
