The CSF is found beneath the third layer of meninges, the Arachnoid matter, in an area called the Subarachnoid Space.
The subdural space lies between the dural and arachnoid layers of the meninges.
middle layer of meninges is called arachnoid
The ventricles are cavities within the brain that connect with each other, with the subarachnoid space of the meninges and with the central canal of the spinal cord.
A subdural hematoma is a collection of blood in the space between the outer layer (dura) and middle layers of the covering of the brain (the meninges). It is most often caused by torn, bleeding veins on the inside of the dura as a result of a blow to the head. The meninges are layers or covers of the brain. There are 3 meninges but only 2 ways which blood can collect: EPIDURAL, SUBDURAL, SUBARACHNOID.Dr. evans onyango
Yes. Cerebrospinal fluid is a clear liquid produced within spaces in the brain called ventricles. It is a filtrate of blood. It is also found inside the subarachnoid space of the meninges which surrounds both the brain and the spinal chord. In addition, a space inside the spinal chord called the central canal also contains cerebrospinal fluid. It acts as a cushion for the neuraxis, also bringing nutrients to the brain and spinal cord and removing waste from the system.
The meninges are the protective layers of the brain, the dura mater, arachnoid space, and the pus mater
The meninges (from the Greek meninx, meaning "membrane") cover and protect the brain and spinal cord. The meninges have three layers: 1) the dura mater, 2) the arachnoid, and 3) the pia mater. The dura mater is the outermost layer covering the central nervous system. The arachnoid (from the Greek arachne, meaning "spider") is a web-like network of collagen and elastic fibers. The innermost layer of the meninges is the pia mater. The pia mater is firmly attached to the neural tissue of the spinal cord and brain. Cerebrospinal fluid fills the space between the pia matter and the arachnoid membrane. Most of the blood vessels that supply blood to the central nervous system are in the pia mater. The outermost layer of the brain membrane (meninges) is the dura mater, "tough mother". The middle layer of meninges is the arachnoid (spider) mater which helps stabilize the brain inside the skull. Finally the pia mater overlies the brain directly.
