No. The name Illuminati refers to a purported conspiratorial organization which is alleged to mastermind events and control world affairs through governments and corporations to establish a New World Order. Jehovah's Witnesses do not get involved with politics and are completely neutral. They put all faith in Jehovah God and his government lead by Christ Jesus.
Jehovah's Witnesses don't go to church. They have their own building where they gather every week for meetings. The building is called Kingdom Hall. Meetings are normally twice a week. For example on Thursdays there could be 3 meetings: Theocratic Ministry School, Bible Study and Service Meeting. And on Sundays the other two meetings: Public Talk and The Watchtower Study. Jehovah's Witnesses also gather 3 times a year for special larger events called: Special Assembly Day, Circuit Assembly and District Convention. These meetings are in harmony with the Bible. Hebrews 10:24 says: "And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Everyone is invited to Jehovah's Witnesses' meetings, free entrance, no money collected.
Consult the Watchtower web site (see related links) > click on "CONSULTATION" (at the top of the page) then > click on "assemblies" > select your country and region Here is a web address for the dates and locations of the 2007 "Follow the Christ!" District Conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses in the United States in various languages, which includes English, Portugese, Spaninsh, Greek, French, and other languages. http://www.jw-media.org/newsroom/index.htm?content=/region/americas/usa/english/releases/events/usa_e070531a.htm If you need the convention dates in the country of Portugal, you will need to contact the appropriate branch office in that country.
The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Roseville, California is a place of worship and community gatherings for members of the Jehovah's Witnesses faith. It serves as a meeting place for religious services, study sessions, and social events for followers of Jehovah's Witnesses in the Roseville area. The Kingdom Hall is typically open to the public and welcomes visitors who are interested in learning more about the Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs and practices.
Jehovah's Witnesses do not participate in any religious, political or nationalistic holidays, events or traditions, so as to keep 'free from the world'' as Jesus Christ commanded. See James 4:4 in the Holy Bible.
The Dow Events Center, Saginaw MI - July 13-15, and again the following 2 weekends 20-22 & 27-29.
In many countries Jehovah's Witnesses suffered a great persecution during WW2. Perhaps the greatest persecution occurred in Germany and the Soviet Union. In Germany Jehovah's Witnesses (back then called Bible students - Bibelforscher in German) refused to support Hitler, because they always stay neutral on political matters. This led to their throwing into concentration camps and as a result some of them died. Unlike Jews if a Witness wanted to be released from a concentration camp, he simply had to sign a document stating he no longer want to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Very few did this. In Russia the situation was similar. Due to their neutrality Jehovah's Witnesses were persecuted and thrown into prisons. The same happened in other countries as well.
Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate holidays such as Christmas, Easter, and birthdays because they believe these celebrations have pagan origins and are not supported by the Bible. They focus on commemorating events such as the Memorial of Christ's death instead.
No. At this time, no conventions are available on television stations. However, you can watch videos about special events including some of the convetnions on their web station, JW Broadcasting. If you have a roku device, you can just look for the app. Otherwise, you can just go to their official website and scroll to the bottom and click on JW Broadcasting and it has a link to their new site.
There are over 7 and a half million Witnesses of Jehovah, so there are potentially 7 and a half million different personal answers to this question. Personally, I enjoy camping, hiking, and similar outdoor activities. I also like to listen to music. Many enjoy sports, games - whatever. Often, a group of Jehovah's people will have parties or informal "get-togethers" including dancing and/or music. Of course, these events do not coincide with birthdays or holidays, as Biblical principles do not reflect well on such festivities.
