Conventional LCD televisions have used cold cathode tubes to illuminate the screen. They are a form of fluorescent lamp.
LED televisions are also LCD but use LED as the light source rather than cold cathode tubes. The display technology remains identical with only the backlighting being different.
LED backlit televisions use less power for the illumination than cold cathode and tend to run cooler as a result.
Note that in 2012 OLED televisions are due to make an appearance. Unlike LCD LED, these use tiny LEDs that are turned on and off to create the image directly. They avoid the use of liquid crystal shutters and are set to deliver extremely thin and lightweight televisions. These are a very different technology to LCD but are thought to be the future standard for televisions.
led is better than lcd tv
lcd having more life then led.
LED's are usually also LCD's. LED LCD's are usually better as you do not have to worry about the light bulb will not burn out because led's last longer. I would suggest LED LCD's as the lightbulb not burning out will save you some money.
LED televisions have better color contrast than LCD televisions. LCD televisions have better viewing angles than LED televisions do, meaning that viewing to television from the side is more comfortable with the LCD televisions than with the LED televisions.
lcd watever
led is used only as the backlight the lcd is working as in oher lcd tv..
No
First of all, an LED and an LCD are the same thing. An LED is just an LCD with a LED backlight. LEDs use less power and have a higher contrast ratio. I say if you can afford it, go with the LED, you won't be disappointed!
Prices for led lcd televisions vary in price depending on how big you are looking for and what pixel you desire. For a 32inch 780 pixle led lcd television around $300 is a good price.
LCD, simply because LEDs suck.
Basically ,LED stands for Light Emitting Diode and LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display. LCD TV use fluorescent lights while LED TV use those light emitting diodes. The fluorescent lights in an LCD TV are always behind the screen. On an LED TV, the light emitting diodes can be placed either behind the screen or around its edges. In my opinion, LED TV is more efficient than LCD TV
An LCD TV is different from a regular TV because a LED tv is an LCD tv with LED backlighting. Regular tv's are non lcd so they have CFL backlighting. Both tv's are reliable and widely used
