I enjoy Death Note because it has a great storyline, great characters, and an amusing plot. The characters are complex, and are interesting to explore psychologically. I love the art and voice acting, too, though I believe that the manga is better. Death Note is intelligent, and it actually makes you think. I'd give it a 5/5. Because it's that good. Its major flaw is its lack of strong female characters, but The Dark Knight lacked those, too, and most people weren't complaining.
Death Note is a one of a kind manga, but many who enjoy Death Note also enjoy the Cain Saga and it's sequel Godchild.Death note is considered to fall into the following genres: Mystery, psychological thriller, supernatural thriller, suspense, and shounen. So, basically, anything that has one or more of those genres in its description is bound to be like Death Note in some way.
