A 3D TV is expensive but it could actually save you more in the long run, especially if you like watching in theaters. There are 3D TVs now that are similar with the cinemas. A good example is TVs from LG. When I went to a store to window shop for appliances, I noticed that their new TVs have sticker that says cinema 3D and when I tried it, it was really very similar. Unlike what critics say about 3D TVs, I didn't experience any flickering. They also use the light type of glasses and I was told that if I use it in the cinema it will work. The TVs also have very thin bezels and watching from it is like doing it from the cinema screens.

∙ 12y agoThere are many advantages to flat screen TVs over there larger, outdated predecessors. These advantages include: better and often HD quality pictures; a smaller footprint in a room; wall mountable; more energy efficient and better looking.

- 3DTVs are being made even cheaper (especially LCD) to the point that you can now buy an HDTV that happens to be a 3DTV same with the 3D Blu ray players as well.
- If you buy passive 3DTVs you will be able to use movie theater glasses or buy some for cheap on Amazon.
- You enjoy 3D from the comforts of your own home.
- You can create traditions or family fun nights with 3D.

In terms of affordability, you should go for the passive 3D TV. It also has many technical advantages like battery free 3D glasses which are less expensive and very comfortable for the eyes.
