What makes it so special is that its built with the latest tools for modeling, animating, and rendering. Every year it's adding something new to their package. This program is mainly used for animation, modeling, rigging, and building scenes.
This program is also used in todays movies with CG images and animation since it also uses an advanced simulation system. So you dont have to animate falling objects, liquids, or smoke a whole lot. Also its the same thing with hair and fur, plus you can actually paint objects in so you dont have to make a forest scene by modeling every tree and leaf. And also you can instance objects so you can make an army charging or a wondering crowd of people as well. The list pretty much goes on.

∙ 12y agoAutodesk Maya is an incredibly capable program, it can do anything that other 3d programs can do and more. I have used Autodesk Maya for several years now and with no formal education have made several videos. It has incredibly comprehensive help files which have tutorials to help you learn the programs. Due to the large number of other Autodesk maya users our there, you are able to find a lot of advice for your project your working on. If you purchase the unlimited license then you are provided with a license for Mental ray, mental ray is an amazingly fast renderer that is not too demanding on your processor. I personally would recommend Autodesk Maya over any other 3d animation programs.
