How to unlocked the layer Photoshop cs3?

If you have a locked layer with a light grey lock icon, then duplicate it and delete the locked one. If you wish, go into your settings so background and merged layers won't be locked by default.

If you locked a layer yourself, a dark grey lock icon will appear. Simply select that layer, and click on the lock tool, which has the same icon.

Edit: typically, the layer in question is the background layer. Double-click on it to change its name, and even using the default (Layer 0), the resulting layer will be unlocked.

Are BMP files lossy or lossless?

BMP file types are lossless.

BMP format stores color data for each pixel in the image without any compression. For example, a 10x10 pixel BMP image will include color data for 100 pixels. This method of storing image information allows for crisp, high-quality graphics, but also produces large file sizes.

How do you convert bmp files to dwg or dwf?

BMP is raster image which means when zoom in to the most detail of the image, it will get much blurring.

Method 1: Use Autocad to add OLE

* Click "Insert" on toolbar of AutoCAD and choose "OLE Object…" * Select "Create New" and from the list of object type choose "Bitemap iamge" * From the pop-up Windows paint application, choose "Edit" on tool bar and click "paste from" * Find the BMP file which you want to add * Save and close Windows Paint * The BMP file is right now added as OLE in Autocad * Save the drawing as .dwg directly in Autocad or publish to DWF file using Autocad

Method 2: Use Autocad to add raster image XREF

* Click "Insert" on toolbar of AutoCAD and choose "Raster Image Reference…" * Find the image file and load it into AutoCAD * Specify the settings and it is now referenced * ** Save the drawing as .dwg directly in Autocad or publish to DWF file using Autocad

* Method 3: Raster to Vector conversion

At this time, you need to get the raster image into a vector one which can be used to be modified in .dwg in Autocad, what you need to do is seeking for a raster to vector conversion. This may usually happens when the BMP is a company logo and you would like to get the image edges traced and edit them.

After you successfully get the raster to vector .dwg file, you can use Autocad to publish it into DWF or use some other applications to get the dwg into dwf.

How to extract an image in gimp editor?

There are many ways to do this. If the background of the image you want to extract is roughly all one color, use the Fuzzy Select tool and put the threshold at just high enough to select everything but the image you want to extract. Then delete that selection. If the background is something different, then you can erase around the image you want to extract, using a smaller and smaller brush for the more detailed parts. This is the most time-consuming and most accurate way to extract the image, I suggest this method if you're in no hurry to get it done. :)

What is mask in image processing?

A mask is a black and white image of the same dimensions as the original image (or the region of interest you are working on). Each of the pixels in the mask can have therefore a value of 0 (black) or 1 (white).

When executing operations on the image the mask is used to restrict the result to the pixels that are 1 (selected, active, white) in the mask. In this way the operation restricts to some parts of the image.

Some images like icons have a mask stored in them that is used when computing which parts of the image are transparent or not.

There are two types of masks: layer mask which is pixel depended (described above) and vector mask which is a path that clips out the contents of the layer and is pixel independent. It is much easier to edit vector mask by the way using path anchor points.

How do you make a picture less than 200k?

If you haven't yet taken the pictures, if you can alter the camera settings for the size of the photo to be taken to the lowest possible size and quality.

If you have already taken them, download them to the computer and alter their size by or a suitable propriety program if you have one, or freeware programs such as "PictureTray" or "Photo Resizer". See the related question. If you have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements on your computer, you can click on the "Image" menu then "Image Size" and enter your values, or you can select "Canvas Size" and enter the values if you want to reduce the size of the canvas that the picture is on without shrinking the actual image itself.

(Of course, you could always crop them , but make certain you always work on copies).

If by 200k you mean file size: using Adobe Photoshop (Adobe Photoshop Elements might also have this feature), open the image that you want to reduce the file size of, then click on "File>Save for Web & Devices..." This will open a preview window of what your image will look like when you save it. Near the bottom left corner of this window it will display what image type is selected for the output and below that it shows the size the file will be once it's saved. On the right side you can select the image format (bmp, jpg, png, gif, etc) and other adustable options below that. PNG-8 and JEPEG will usually give you smaller file sizes. After you select a file format, you can then play around with the Quality or Colors setting, the more you reduce them it will reduce image size, but it will also reduce the color variation in your image, so it is up to you to decide when to stop adjusting it and how much reduction is too much.

How do you flip a word document onto its side?

Depends on which year you have. In the most recent version, (2007) what is called "landscape" format (a document on its side) can be achieved by clicking the "Page layout" tab (two over from the main tab "home") Directly under the "Page Layout" tab should be three buttons. "Margins" (Down to the left) "Orientation" (Directly below) and "Size" (Down and to the left). Click "Page Orientation" and a menu should pop down with the options "Portrait" (Should be highlighted in orange if that is what is currently selected) and "Landscape". Select "Landscape" and the paper will rotate.

If it is an older version of Word, the steps will be similar to the ones above.

Why does adobe after effects cost so much?

It is not because they are the industry standard on all digital art, it is because it is professional compositing/post-processing software that is normally sold/licensed to companies, and companies can usually afford to pay more. However, it is considered cheap compared to other professional compositing software that cost $5,000 and up.
