Transporting people from one place to another.
It depends on the type of aircraft. There are a wide variety of uses for them.
Very small aircraft may seat only one pilot, for the pure aerobatic scene. These are stunt aeroplanes that display their agility and the pilot's techniques at, for example, an Airshow. Then there are gliders, conventional and motor gliders. Conventionals are for civilians and are used to soar over the landscape. They are used on a leisure basis, usually seating two, and used to admire the world from approx. 4000ft. Motor gliders such as Vigilants can reach much greater heights, up to 8000ft and are used as a training purpose, particularly in the Air Cadets. There are fast jets that are used in the armed forces, such as the Eurofighter Typhoon, or the recently out of service Jaguar. These are used all over the world on missions and often carry a great deal of arnament in fighter situations. Most carry two pilots, a navigator and the main aviator. There are also much larger reconnaisance aeroplanes such as the C-17 Globemaster, which their main use is to ferry cargo to and from places. Airliners, such as the Airbus A330 are used mainly for holiday purposes, shipping passengers to and from countries.
