Well it all depends on where you are at if you are in lets say Italy Then it would be America, Canada, Mexico, and so on. If you are in Russia then it would all of the countries in Europe. Then if you were in America Then it would be China and Japan.
For purposes of this study, the great plains is defined as all Counties in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska and New Mexico :)

New Mexico is definitely considered a western state. All the states that border New Mexico, except Oklahoma, are considered all western states. New Mexico is bordered by Mexico, from the south, Texas and Oklahoma from the east, Colorado, from the north, and Arizona from the west.
