most anti-gay hatred stems from religion, but it can also come from cultural norms and ignorance. And when people who share the same hatred bond together, they sometime form a group.
Cause they think gay people are different and some people are afraid of different, so forget those people. If you're gay don't be ashamed of who you are just be yourself and do what feels right, okay.
An anti-gay hate group is a group of people who come together to protest homosexuality on the grounds of their morals, religious beliefs, and often homophobia. Some anti-gay hate groups are peaceful (if one can call them that) with no more action than marching, picket signs, and slogans/chants. Others purposely harm homosexual individuals, couples, and/or their families in physical (beatings, rape, throwing of objects, etc.) and/or emotional (hate mail, harassment, etc.) manners.Another view:There is a huge difference between a hate group and a group that is merely-anti gay. Hate groups nearly always resort to violence, and they target individuals, not just ideas. Many groups just oppose gayness itself on religious, moral, scientific, philosophical, or health-related grounds, even if misguided. Many who are biased in favor of gayness cannot separate those who oppose gay behavior from those who practice it. Protesting gayness is not in itself a hateful act, since those who do so maintain it is about love for those caught up in that life. However, groups like Westboro Baptist, don't stop at protesting gayness. Their very signs show they actually hate gay people, or at the least, believe God does and that they are worthy of hate. It is groups like that who ruin it for those who used their own minds to conclude that gayness is wrong. It is like in the abortion debate. I would say there that those who harass women, block access to clinics, burn/bomb clinics and even shoot doctors are nowhere close to the same as those who simply oppose abortion, and make up maybe less than 10%. It is like that with the gay issue too, and the few violent people give gay militants (which also don't represent the entire group) excuses to try to silence all who oppose gayness.
There are two types of hate groups that hate homosexuals. There are those that hate almost everyone who is not exactly like them like the Neo-Nazis and the KKK. The second are political religious groups that specifically demonize and persecute homosexuals like the the American Family Association (AFA) and the Abiding Truth Ministries. Finally, there are many people and religions who simply think that homosexuality is immoral. This is different from hate or persecution as they do not actively try to withhold rights and privileges to homosexuals, call them derogatory names, beat, murder, or otherwise cause harm to homosexuals. Simply disapproving of homosexuality is not enough for a group to be considered a hate group.

The rise of anti-immigrant groups in the US may lead to more hate filled crimes
He was robbed, beaten and left to die tied to a fence as a result of an anti-gay hate crime. He died as a result of the incident.
Being gay and being a thug are not mutually exclusive. Sexual preference has nothing to do with how big, mean, tough, macho, or strong someone is. Some of the toughest men are gay and some of the most effeminate "sissies" are heterosexual men. There are gay men in the military, gay men in militant groups, gay men in hate groups, etc. Even some hypothesize that Adolph Hitler was gay. To put up with some of the anti-gay hatred in the world, you would have to be quite strong. That is probably why there is a transsexual kick boxing champion in New Zealand. She was tired of being attacked and bullied over who she was and learned to fight back.
They don't usually hate them? in fact they usually become friends with them
Only straight men hate being called gay. Most gay men prefer the term "gay."
yes, because they target only Christian organization and label them all hate groups
Gay people in the west seldom support political groups that criminalize homosexuality. But if you are talking about Muslims, gay people tend to dislike injustice, and regardless of a person's religious beliefs, no one should have to suffer injustice, not even those who hate gay people.
Yep :( he so gay that gay people hate him
