Tapas is another name for appatizers, a small "starter" to be eaten with drinks or before a main meal. Tapas typically are a "small" meal rather than just a small food item to tide you over. Many upsale resturants call their appitizers "tapas".
Lemons are a very common garnish, it is often put on salads and appatizers as a slice. Fresh parsley is also a great garnish. I have put it on mashed potatoes and pasta. A small fresh stalk on top of the potatoes or pasta adds a really classy touch! Almost any kind of fruit like berries add a beautiful accent to dessert dishes.
