Asteroids have many shapes, depending on their mass or composition. The largest are spherical, but others and elongated spheres, potato shaped and even resemble peanuts. Mostly, they are irregular shaped rocks.
The moons of Mars are captured asteroids. They are not spherical, but are irregularly shaped, just like most asteroids.
crashing of asteroids millions of years ago.
Well, they look like a big belt of asteroids circling around planets or galaxy.
I think that its asteroids
The satellites that revolve around Mars are its moons, Phobos and Deimos, which are thought to be captured asteroids.
Objects that move between Mars and Jupiter are asteroids. These asteroids mainly exist in the asteroid belt located between the two planets. They vary in size and shape, ranging from small rocky fragments to large irregularly shaped bodies.
The asteroid belt is a doughnut-shaped concentration of asteroids orbiting the Sun between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, closer to the orbit of Mars. Most asteroids orbit from between 186 million to 370 million miles (300 million to 600 million km or 2 to 4 AU) from the Sun. The asteroids in the asteroid belt have a slightly elliptical orbit. The time for one revolution around the Sun varies from about three to six Earth years.
Dwarf planets are not asteroids. While both are similar in size and composition, dwarf planets are considered a distinct classification due to their spherical shape and ability to gravitationally clear their orbit of other debris. In contrast, asteroids are irregularly shaped and typically exist in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
Asteroids are not luminous like stars. They do not produce their own light but instead reflect light from the Sun. When they are illuminated by sunlight, asteroids can sometimes appear bright in the night sky.
Asteroids are by nature irregular shaped and do not fit into the classification of a planet. The largest asteroid, Ceres, is only classified as a dwarf planet. The term planet is defined not by size alone. [See related question]
Asteroids are all different shapes and sizes.
Mars has two small moons, Phobos and Deimos. These moons are thought to be either captured asteroids or remnants of a larger body that broke apart. They are irregularly shaped and much smaller than Earth's moon.
