Stem cells are cells that do not yet have an assigned job. They only stay like this for 3-5 days after fertilisation. When the stem cell is assigned a job, this depends on the part of the body it is in, it is un-able to change jobs. Hope this helps!!!

Stem cells can be used for many things. The one thing that they are being used for now is treating diseases. A stem cell is a cell in the body with no specific function yet. Scientist are trying to discover a way to get the cell to fight cancer. In the UK stem cells have recently cured a man with HIV AIDS.
