You really don't need a special character trait, and you don't really have to be a certain type of person. you just have to love working with the materials that a blacksmith would be introduced to and you have to love what your doing. if you don't absolutely love it, then it is pointless to do that for you lifetime because you will dread it at some point. This is what other people have always told me "Do what you love doing the most and make the most of it". Hope this helps I'm only 15.
