"Barbiturates" refers to any chemical derivative of barbituric acid, and there are more than 2,500 of those that have been shown to be psychoactive. We are not going to list them here.

The most commonly abused are amobarbital (Amytal), pentobarbital (Nembutal), and secobarbital (Seconal). A combination of amobarbital and secobarbital, called Tuinal, is also highly abused.
