The most common reason for a key on a laptop or computer keyboard to stop working is dust or debris that is under the key. Turn off the PC or laptop. If desktop, unplug the keyboard from the PC. Lay out sheets of newspaper on the floor and sit on the floor with the laptop or PC keyboard. Gently turn it upside down (must open the laptop lid for this) and GENTLY tap very few inches across the bottom. Dust and debris should fall out onto the newspaper. Also tap along the edges on all sides.
Next, if you have a can of air used on computers, (make sure the area is well ventilated and), hold the keyboard at an angle and blow out remaining dust. Let dry completely.
Use a SMALL amount of rubbing alcohol on a soft paper towel to wipe off the tops of the keys. LET DRY.
Reattach to PC or power. Try the keys.
If it still will not work, you may need help to pop off the letter cap and use tweezers to lift out any debris. UNPLUG FIRST. And BE careful -- there are 3 pieces under a cap that MUST stay in place, 2 plastic frames and a rubber cap in the center. To reattach the key, align it in its slot and press on the corners so it pops back on.
