Consecutive means one after another or in repetition. Consecutive floors refers to one or more floors directly above or below the other and is typically used to reference office space. If a tenant wished to lease floor 2,3 and 5, all 3 floors could not be deemed "consecutive", however 2 and 3 would be classified as such.

Layman terms using Boxing as a scenario:

If a male boxer punched his opponent 6 times with the left followed by a right and another with his left, then he has used 6 consecutive lefts, one right, 7 lefts and a total of 8 punches.
