earth crust
Continents are denoted as having a 'Granitic' rock type, but this is, of course, a generalisation. But nonetheless, this is the most accurate description due to the abundance of minerals, which is compared to that seen in granite, and is most similar. There are, of course other rock types (bear in mind that most rocks on earth are igneous also) with differing compositions, as well as precious metals like platinum and gold, but these are in an absolute minority.
It is made up of granite. Michaelbravo rules

Basalt is the dominant rock in the ocean crust. And I assume Granite is dominant for continental crust.

Tectonic plates may be made of continental crust, oceanic crust, or both.
Continental plates are composed of mainly granitic rock.
