thedifference between the two are the ls is a luxury sport it has softer riding shocks a different front cap with one piece composite head lights the fenders are not the same as the ss or cl classic luxury models the parking lights are in the bumper of the car only. the interior is of the same dimensions including the dash board the ls has a 305 5.0 liter engine the ss has a 305 high out put motor rated at 180 net hp the ss models of 86 87 and 88 all have performance 373 geared rear ends they both share the same 2004r metric over drive 4 speed transmissions the ls and ss have different steering ratios one being a quick steer and the other being a slow steer feel most ss have bucket seats floor shifter and tachometers ls is usually column shifted with a bench seat but i have seen some ls with ss interior options before the cars are the same size the ss also has a ram air box behind the grill of the car for a cold air affect and blacked out trim accept for the crest on the nose and the crests on the tail lights the dash in no way shape form or fashion resemble that of an 86 camaro

While I'm not 100% certain of this, I don't think there are any differences in the fenders themselves. I think the only difference is the front end itself. The only difference I can see is the side marker light in the SS lower front. But I think this is mounted in the spoiler. There may be a hole in the fender there....but I'm not sure.
