Observation and comparison of any culture and/or religion can only be done without prejusdice by an outside, hopefully neutral person. The insider is biased. The outsider is biased by their life experiences that may see the good and bad sides of belief system. Having studied other religions see where they are different and the same. The insider could do this also, but with the bias of their active belief in their system.
