Off the top of my head, lets see:
There is the weather which you have to work out in, not always comfortable.
There is the uncertainty of the results, planting in hope with the harvest unsure.
Early to bed, Early to rise.
The cost of equipment that takes the place of the niceties of life.
Sacrificing short term comforts for long term gain.
There is the dirt under the nails.
The turning over the control of the future to the God who holds the future, knowing He will see you through when you can't see what tomorrow will hold.
But there is the joy you feel when you hit the sack tired, but knowing you have put in a full day and come the morning you will start refreshed to start anew.
These are a bit of the discomforts and joys as seen through the eyes of a son and offspring of generations of farmers.
