it really depends on which way you look at it.
in a spiritual or emotional sense your dreams come from your subconscious flooding your dreams with pictures of what it tries to explain you.
from a scientific point of view, its your brain exercising while you sleep, taking what you have seen or know and putting it into random images.
in the end it what you make of it. you pick where it comes from for you.

There is a law irrevocably decreed in heaven upon which all blessings are predicated and when we receive any blessing from God it is based upon the law upon which it is predicated or based. With this as our premise or base, what law governs the law of dreams? To answer this question we can look at the examples of those who received dreams in the bible which we know to be true. We have Joseph who was sold into Egypt and Jacob if I recall correctly. Both of them practiced moral cleanliness, they forgave even those who tried to harm them-- they had no guile, didn't hold grudges, in other words, and they were trying to follow God. It also requires the person to never wish harm on anyone. When a person follows this law of heaven they receive the blessings of dreams to help them be safe as they wish no harm on any others. This may be helpful and is based on my study and opinion. You may also want to study Daniel's life and his companions for additional insights.
King Arthur's dreams relate to the telling of the story. What happens in his dreams relate to how the story is told. He makes his decisions based on his dreams.
"Field of Dreams" was based on the novel "Shoeless Joe" by W. P. Kinsella. The novel was published in 1982 and inspired the 1989 film adaptation starring Kevin Costner.

Dreams are just dreams and do not "mean" anything. The mind is sorting out stuff and there is no reason to place any importance in anything you may remember upon waking up.
