Pangamic acid is a pure substance sometimes (formerly) named 'Vitamin B15' but chemically known as " 6-(2-Dimethylamino-acetoxy)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydroxy-hexanoic acid ". Its elementary formula is C10H19NO8 for d-gluconodimethylamino acetic acid. molar mass being 281.26 g/mol.
[ Ernst Krebs Sr & Jr both patented (1943) and also termed this chemical as "Vitamin B15", though it is not a true vitamin, hasno nutritional value, has noknown use in the treatment of any disease and has been called a "quack remedy". It was banned by the Canadian 'FDA-analogue' (1980)]
