Was there a Boise River Festival in 2009?

No. The River Fest went bankrupt in 2003, and that was the final year it was held. For the past 7 years, the official reason for ending the sorely missed River Festival was due to bad management, which led to the bankruptcy. This is missinformation to say the least. The truth of the matter is that Boise, and its River Festival, was the victim of organized crime based out of Seattle, Washington. Prior to the beginning of the 2003 River Festival, a group of young men.....many of them being former BSU football players, brought $250,000 in counterfeit $20 bills into this fair city. A total of 7 criminals spent $230,000 of this money buying small trinkets and food, keeping the change (real cash) and returning it to the crime bosses in Seattle. What a shame it is that this information has never been disclosed until I decided to do so. How do I know this information? Well....I was working undercover for the secret service and a team of local detectives after the crime of distributing counterfeit money was discovered. I was in a position to pose as a small business owner in need of extra cash and we were in the process of buying the last $20,000 in counterfeit bills. Things fell apart, and the criminals lost their nerve...running back to the safety of Seattle. I placed a call to the secret service station here in Boise awhile back, only to be told that has now become history (i.e. old news). The rumor that the RIver Festival went bankrupt because of poor management is totally false. Boise was the victim of organized crime; a crime that took this yearly wonderful event, forever in the past for all the citizens of Boise. What a terrible shame!!
