1. An average glaxaie's speed is about 140 miles a second ! :]
2.Galaxies are classified by elliptical, spiral, and irregular.
3. Galaxies are a huge group of single stars, star clusters, star systems, dust and gas bound together by gravity.
4. Irregular galaxies are typically smaller than other types of galaxies.
5. A galaxies classification is determined by shape, color, size, or temperature.
the Milky Way is a barred spiral galaxy of type SBbc and has a total mass of around 1012 Suns ("solar masses"). The Gallactic disc extends to about 15 kpc from the centre of the Galaxy, where a triaxial bulge of radius 3 kpc and mass 1010 solar masses contains a black hole with a mass of around 3 x 106 solar masses. A comparitively diffuse halo of stars surrounds the disc extending to around 20 kpc from the Gallactic centre, and the visible Galaxy rests in a halo of dark matter whose extent is unknown but appears to reach as far as the nearest galaxy.
Galaxies are sprawling space systems composed of dust, gas, and countless stars. The number of galaxies cannot be counted--the observable universe alone may contain 100 billion. Some of these distant systems are similar to our own Milky Way galaxy, while others are quite different.
Well, there are more galaxys and the planets in each galaxys are asame
the ellipitical galaxy is the hottiest galaxy
most ellipical galaxies have old stars
I think 1 of them are it has the same name of a galaxy. Im not sure.
well nobody really knows because it could go on for ages.THE GALAXY IS MASSIVE
Well, I was asking this question too, but I soon figured out what the galaxy part was used for. It is used for (when you have wi-fi) stating some of the HootOwl comments on the galaxy, and for a few akward, but adorable facts about the glorious Adam Young. :) ~Tiffany
milky way is a spiral galaxy spiral galaxies have younger stars in the arm and older stars in the middle
If you take 10 tennis balls and spread them across the U.S. they'd be more crowded than the starn is our galaxy!
Our galaxy is a barred spiral galaxy.
The Andromeda Galaxy is a spiral galaxy.
Our galaxy is a spiral galaxy because it is spiral in shape.
The Andromeda Galaxy is a spiral galaxy, just like our own galaxy (the Milky Way). The Andromeda Galaxy is a spiral galaxy, just like our own galaxy (the Milky Way). The Andromeda Galaxy is a spiral galaxy, just like our own galaxy (the Milky Way). The Andromeda Galaxy is a spiral galaxy, just like our own galaxy (the Milky Way).
Not counting the Magellanic Clouds (which are minielliptical galaxies orbiting our galaxy), the Andromeda galaxy is the galaxy nearest to our galaxy.
