Cougars are also known as pumas, mountain lions, panthers, and catamounts. Their Latin name is felis concolor.

They have retractable claws, long fangs, slitted eyes, and tawny fur. The end of their muzzle is white, rimmed by black. They usually have white under bellies and a black-tipped tail.

They can climb trees and are carnivores and eat many rodents and deer. Raccoons, rabbits, beavers, porcupines, skunks, opossum's, squirrels, are just some of the smaller animals.

Females mature around 1.5 years of age while males mature when they're near 3 years old. They can live up to about 13 years in the wild.

Mountain lions are very big and are the biggest feline that can still purr. They can make loud, shrill, screams, too. The screams are kind of like an enhanced "meow."

they are also cats, Mouton cat, catamount.

The grizzly is a race of the brown bear. They are somewhat smaller than the brown bears of the Alaskan peninsula, and are more aggressive than black bears. They have made a comeback after nearly being wiped out in the Lower 48 states, and can be seen in several park locations, such as Yellowstone.

Well, I used to be a fan of cheetahs and I know a little about them. The cheetah is the worlds fastest land animal and it can reach speeds of 70 mph. Unlike other cats, the cheetah has a leaner body, longer legs and has been reffured to as the greyhound of the cats. It is not an aggresive animal, only when it is preying upon its food. It has weak jaws and a small mouth allowing it not to be able to fight bigger animals. But the price is paid with its ability to run really fast and outbeat any of the other animals. That's the only cat I really know about in the cat family, other than that, the cougar is the strongest cat out of the wild cat family. I hope this gave you a better understanding of wild cats.

There are 38 species of wild cats. the ones known as the the big cats are the most popular and largest of the wild cats. The big cats are: tiger, lion, leopard, jaguar, clouded leopard, cheetah, puma (also known as cougar or mountain lion) and snow leopard. wild cats live all over the world in the USA, South America, Central America, Africa, Asia, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Alaska and Russia. But no wild cats live in New Zealand, Australia, iceland, Greenland,Madagascar, Hawaii or the carribean. The largest wild cat in the Siberian tiger, the smallest is the black footed cat. (also known as the anthill tiger cat, little spotted cat, or sebala cat.)

The female bobcat will raise the young alone. 1 to 6, but usually 2 to 4 kittens are born in April to May. Sometimes there are second litters, with births as late as September. Bobcats are crepuscular, meaning they are primarily active at dawn and at dusk. Bobcats can kill prey up to 8 times bigger than they are!

Cougars and alligators are both dangerous, carnivorous animals. There are reports of jaguars attacking and eating crocodiles and maybe alligators but it is uncertain as to whether cougars have ever done the same.
