In the wild they are omnivores (eating plants and animals). If you have them as a pet I would go with the food at the pet store if I were you. And if you have more than one in a cage, please don't starve them because they may even resort to cannabolism.
well its impossible to know what their favorite foods are because they eat so much.i think it depends on the hermit crab itself :)
Hermit Crabs like fruit ( No citrus fruit), palm tree bark, and my hermit crabs love Zoo Meds Hermit Crab food.Don't get the dried up shrimp for them, they won't eat it.
The only thing that is known to attract hermit crabs are a shell with a pearl color inside. Also food but none spesific, all hermit crabs enjoy diffrent foods better than other ones, other hermit crabs may like.
Hermit Crabs live in sea water. Guppies are freshwater fish and will not be able to live in with hermit crabs. The crabs would no doubt eat whatever dead fish you give them.
Foods to not feed to your hermit crab would be: anything treated with chemicals or have preservations, and most spices.
Hermit crabs do not care much for the color of the shell, however, they prefer shells with a pearl lining inside. Ecuadorian hermit crabs are very picky for their shells though! Try to get the same shape and colour of shell for these ones.
