This is a large river was used by Native Americans, fur traders and Lewis and Clark for exploration. This river forms the Western border of Iowa and flows through Missouri to the Mississippi. In Iowa there are many rivers. The Des Moines river is one of the largest rivers. In Nebraska, the Platte river branches into many areas before joining into one large river. There are many other rivers in the Midwest. These are just a few.
