I believe footprints would be helpful for that; size could be extrapolated by the distance between prints, as well as perhaps the weight (the depth to which the feet had sunk). You could perhaps also, if the print is well conserved, have the type of feet (hooves, claws, talons, etc.), as well as the number (this may sound rather odd, but as in if the animal walked on two, four, six, eight legs).
