Hamsters love running on their wheels, eating, sleeping, burrowing, and exploring. use toys such as toilet paper rolls, multi-level house toys, and other cage accessories to keep them occupied and happy. you can hide small pieces of carrot around the cage for them to find, too - this is a good food to use for this because it doesn't leave much behind in the bedding, which can become messy (tomatoes, etc).
DO NOT buy a HAMSTER BALL. this is a terrifying experience for hamsters, who are trapped in a ball and, with poor eyesight, can't really see where they're going while they're running frantically looking for escape. it is cruel to use one of these. instead, you can buy a hamster playpen (keep an eye on your pet, though, because some can climb over the walls) or a large rubbermaid bin that you put bedding in with your hamster's toys, for it to run around in.

∙ 11y agoHamster food is what most people feed them. You can find it at pet stores, Target, or Walmart. Occaisonally you can feed them a SMALL piece of carrot or apple. A few drops of plain milk is okay too. They eat grains. NO CITRUS!
Well, I think something YOU want to be fed if YOU are a hamster. Something not too sweet, sour, salty, spicy, bitter, or gross. And do not feed it a lot of fruit that has a lot of juice in them.
fruits, nuts, veggies, piece of hard boiled egg, chicken bits. (take note, i said chicken - not FRIED chicken. K?)
no onions and no citrus fruits.
