Green house gas effect is a phenomenon that takes place in the atmosphere. Have you ever thought why this occur? well the answer is that the greenhouse gases forms a layer in the earths atmosphere. this layer only allows light radiations through it. the suns radiation enters this layer as light radiations.
these light rays are absorbed by the earth on reaching it (remember that earth only absorbs light rays not heat). thus the heat is radiated to the atmosphere.But the greenhouse gas layer forbids this radiation to get out of the earths atmosphere as it is not a light ray anymore. thus the heat is trapped in the earth increasing the earth's temparature. this is greenhouse gas effect. this leads to global warming which further leads to glacier and ice cap depletion.

The primary gas is water vapor which accounts for 80 to 90% of the absorption.
Carbon dioxide is second in command and makes up about 0.04% of the atmosphere and 10% of the forcing.
man produces about 0.28% of all greenhouse gases and even when excluding water produces less then 6% of all gases. Nature produces the rest and we would be dead without them.

∙ 14y agoGreenhouse gases are gases made up of various gases like carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, HFCs, PFCs and SF6. Greenhouse gases are very bad and are the cause for global warming. They trap the heat from the sun on the earth. Hope this helped.

I havent heard of any uses, but i assume they could be used as lanfills. An article i read talked about storing greehouse gases in oil wells below the sea...perhaps empty landills can be used to store nuclear waste or even store green house gases if they are deep enough.
